What a sponsor gets

What comes with a sponsored camera.

A sponsored camera is a real camera on a pole, recording the corner you chose. Your firm is credited on the crashes it captures. When we pull footage from that corner, the sponsor's name goes with it, the same way our host businesses are credited today.

The footage itself is free, and it belongs to the person in the crash. They choose their own lawyer, therapist, or body shop, and we do not share their information with anyone, sponsors included. Your firm gets the credit on that corner, and the people who drive through it get a corner that is on camera.

A few details, in plain words: CollisionCam is a company, not a registered charity, so sponsorships are not tax-deductible donations. Cameras go on corners we can reach — we need a willing host building and a clear view of the intersection. How your name appears, how often you hear from us, and what a corner costs are things we settle on the first call.

What firms ask first.

Do we get referred the people in the crashes?
No. The footage is free and belongs to the person it happened to, and they choose their own lawyer, therapist, or clinic. What a sponsor gets is credit on that corner's crashes, and a corner that is on camera when the next one happens.
Can we choose the intersection?
Yes. Tell us the corners you care about and we check them — whether a camera is already there, whether there is a building to host one, and whether the view would be useful. If a corner will not work, we tell you and suggest the nearest one that will.
What if the corner already has a camera?
Then it costs less to sponsor, because nothing new has to go up. Sponsoring an existing camera keeps it online and puts your name on its crashes. We will tell you on the call.
How does our name appear?
Crashes from a sponsored camera are credited to the sponsor, the same way our host businesses are credited today. Exactly where and how — on the crash posts, on the footage we send, or both — is something we agree on together before the camera goes up.
Is this tax-deductible?
No. CollisionCam is a company, not a registered charity. Talk to your accountant about how a sponsorship is treated for your firm.
We are not in Utah. Does this still work?
We are in Utah, Nevada, Washington and Idaho today, and a city sponsorship is how we open somewhere new. If you are outside those four, ask anyway.
Can we just donate instead?
Yes. Donate any amount and it goes toward cameras at corners that need one. No call, no paperwork.
